30 Day Ab Challenge – Redux

I’ve been getting some requests to re-post the 30 Day Ab Challenge from a few years back. That particular post was and has been one of the most-searched posts.  It seems to be pretty popular – especially around this time of year (aka upcoming beach season).

This is a fun little exercise that you commit to participating in over 30 days.  You can do the challenge on its own, or as a complement to your current workout routine.  If you’re already accustomed to working your abdominal muscles, then double (or triple) each day’s challenge.  Push yourself – you’ll be surprised what you can accomplish.

Here’s the Challenge (you can view the original post here):

Online Boot Camp Registration

Registration for my first online boot camp will be open for one more week – closing, Thursday, September 1.  The session will begin on Monday, September 5.

BOOT CAMP

Here are the details:

I will send the week’s worth of workouts in advance. You’ll have 3 minimum per week with the option of doing a 4th workout. I will provide demos for the exercises, and modifications – whether I do them myself or not is yet to be seen. You will have to submit your workouts at the end of each week – with any additional notes, questions, comments, etc. so that I can review them. Again, the entire session will be designed so that you can do it right in the privacy of your living room. You will not require a lot of space – and likely just a yoga mat or a blanket with some padding so that you don’t have sore knees or elbows or back or bum. 😀 The cost for the online session is $50.  I will also provide nutritional tips/guidance, etc.

This session is open to everyone – no exercise experience required.

Registration is nearly full so if you are interested email me @ nsfitnessqueen@yahoo.ca or leave a comment below with your contact info.

Couch Lapping (Day 13)

Couch Lapping

I tell my clients this all the time – “you’re doing better than those on the couch”.

Every little movement counts.  Even if you can only spare 5 minutes today (obviously there are days when it’s near impossible to exercise – and you certainly do deserve a break) take those 5 minutes and do a lap around the block/office or do a circuit of jumping jacks, squats, mountain climbers, and lunges.  Do something.  And be proud.  You’re doing great!

A Workout Recap

I’m gonna brag here for a minute….I have honestly had a great week of workouts!

Monday night I taught my boot camp class.  It was the first class of the new sessions and a few new peeps were present so I wanted to keep it interesting for the regulars and just the right intensity for the newbies.  It was fan-friggin’-tastic!!  We all worked up a great sweat and felt exhilarated when the class was over.

That right there is important to me…I always want to feel exhilarated when my workouts are completed.  I want to feel good and accomplished; not like I’ve just finished a very menial task.

In fact, I had several notes after the class and the following day from a few of the boot camp participants thanking me for a great workout and that they felt great and were happy to be back.

The rest of the week’s workouts were spectacular – Wednesday night I worked out at home and I changed it up a bit – trying a combo of new workouts, Thursday night I hit the gym for a much-needed run, followed by a superb strength workout (by myself and then with my client), then I followed that up with a Zumba class.  I finished the night off with a yoga class and it.felt.so.good!

Last night it was a bit stormy here in Nova Scotia so I came home again and worked out here.  I did one round of one of my boot camp sessions and kicked it in the ass!!  It feels so good to do that kind of craziness!

I’m taking today off because my calf muscles are a little stiff and sore (likely from my run the other night) and I’m heading out for a massage shortly.  I really think I deserve that today.

Thank goodness for rest day!

New Year, New You

Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays.

We’re coming up to the start of a new year and I’m sure a ton of you, like me, are going to commit to some New Year Resolutions.

To kick off the new year I’m doubling up on a challenge and posting below the 30 Days Abs and Squat Challenge.

It seems that the 30 Day Ab Challenge and the 30 Day Squat Challenge have been two of the most popular challenges and the most searched….so, badonkadonk!  This challenge has them both.

As always, this challenge can be done on its own or as part of your regular workout regime.  Just be sure to take your rest days.

abs and squat challengeI’m really looking forward to the new year and what’s to come.  Wishing you all a Happy New Year!
