Happy Canada Day!!

I have a fitness friend in the US and I mentioned yesterday that today is Canada Day. He asked me what Canada Day is and “I just mean from a national stand point is it like someone’s birthday or anything significant in the past that happened on this day?” To which I replied something smart-assed and linked him here >> here.

And because we’re celebrating here in Nova Scotia and everywhere else in our spectacular country I thought I’d hold a little celebratory contest. And note: This Giveaway is open to ALL my readers – not just Canadians! 🙂

All you have to do is comment below with your FAVORITE EXERCISE or WORKOUT and WHY. That’s it! That’s all you have to do. Pretty easy, isn’t it?

This contest will be open for ONE WEEK (closing July 7 at noon, my time) so get on it.

    My favorite workout is running because it is energizing.

    Being Canadian to me means being able to go for a walk without a male escort like in other countries. It means I can workout without wearing a veil or being fully robed as to hide my body. I love being Canadian. My favorite workout time is generally first thing in the morning when the air is crisp with freshness, least amount of smog and heat.

    My favorite exercise is doing squats, killer at the time but you get the best results 🙂

  4. My favorite workouts are yoga and kettlebells. I think the two balance each other out perfectly.

    Running used to be my favourite before I became too ill. It is so freeing and empowering, and it is easy to track your progress. However, my body no longer co-operates with me so my running days are over. Learning Yoga, which is freeing in a different way

    I love yoga. Sometimes It can be gentle but most often you know that your body has had a great work out. It also helps my anxiety.

    My favorite workout is 30 Day Shred after a 30min run. I feel reinvigorate after those specific targeted muscles get a good kick :)

  9. My favorite thing to do is to go on a short run (1 mile-ish) and follow up with weight lifting (workout entire body) for an hour.

  10. I enjoy running! I have also been doing a 30 day abs workout. I am on day 24. It sucks but I feel good when I complete the day’s exercises.

  11. My favorite is gymnastics because it works every part of your body, builds strength not only physically, but mentally and emotionally, and most importantly, it’s fun!

    My favorite workout is squats because I am trying to improve the look of my hips, butt, and thighs.

  13. I love a lot of different workouts, but my absolute favorite is Zumba. Not only does it work my legs, butt, and core, but it’s so much fun it doesn’t feel like a workout. And seriously, where else can a forty-something white gal twerk without shame? Zumba rocks.

  14. My favorite workout is jogging as the extra exertion tends to calm my over-active brain. Yoga would be my second favorite, as it relaxes any nerves I have and I work in the entertainment industry.

  15. I live yoga, but pigeon pose is my favorite. I sit all day at work, and this lovely pose stretches my IT band and glutes.
